Hobs "Its a Knockout" team is fundraising champion
Hobs Reprographics was joined at their headquarters this week by Liverpool European Cup winning legend Alan Kennedy to celebrate their fundraising success for the charity Children Today. Hobs Liverpool was one of the top three fundraising companies in the UK, following a UK wide Its a Knockout inspired fundraising drive and was chosen as the official company to host the national presentation event.
Children Today provides grants for vital, life-changing equipment for children and young people with sickness and disability. The money raised by Hobs was used to buy a specially adapted bicycle for local boy Josh Frankland, which was presented to him by the Hobs team and Alan Kennedy to the delight of both Josh and his parents.Josh's dad Alan Frankland said the bicycle would make a huge difference to their lives; "It's going to make it so much easier for us going out with the kids. When Josh is on the bike he's so much happier, he peddles and giggles and he's like a different kid" Alan Frankland.
Liverpool legend Alan Kennedy has been a patron of the charity ever since he saw first hand the many positive and tangible benefits that Children Today brings to so many children’s lives and believes it is vital that other companies like Hobs do as much as they can to get involved in raising money for the charity. Hobs Liverpool raised £1250 for the event, which Kieran O'Brien, Hobs company chairman then matched, bringing the total raised to £2500.
There were 10 people in the team from the Liverpool area, led by Ryan McClintock Managing Director of Hobs On-Site, the facilities management division of the Hobs Group, who agreed the day was a great success: "It was a beautiful summer’s day and we had many supporters including families and kids and to round it all off we won the competition! It was a fantastic event with a lot of fun and most importantly a lot of money was raised" Ryan McClintock, Managing Director Hobs On-Site.
